Congress gets paid while real folks suffer, classic swamp hypocrisy, no paychecks for them!
I've always believed in the principle that hard work should be rewarded, and if you don't work, you don't get paid. Seems only fair that Congress should adhere to the same standard during a government shutdown. After all, aren't they public servants first? It's unsettling when we think of our leaders receiving pay when essential workers are left in limbo. Perhaps if they felt the pinch just like every day Americans during these shutdowns, they'd find solutions faster. We need a government that values accountability and gets back to the forefront of serving the people, not themselves. Let's return to those values.
It is time for the powers to uphold there responsibilities and if they can't or won't then we the people need to put protections into the constitution to help them do the right thing. First make it illegal to shut the government down, The Legislators and the Senators no pay, no health insurance from the first day till the shut down ends. There staff do not have to adhere to this rule.

As a leader you eat AFTER the people in your charge, in this case these despots wear the tag leader because most have a skewed view of what that is. Yes, no pay during a shutdown, if you depend on your elected job for pay, then get a regular job. Congress needs to re-evaluate how their actions affect ALL in their charge not just their constituents.

My Brother works for the FAA as an air traffic controller and right now is using his emergency funds to make ends meet while the fat cats in Congress gets paid, I say if the federal workers don't get paid then neither shall Congress draw paychecks until they end the federal shutdown
